MMXVI

This year was an amazing year that definitely had a lot of transition for me. I’ve highlighted my top memories from 2016 below and in my next post I will share with you my New Years Resolutions for 2017. I have learned so much this year and I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store for me.

Became a Pescatarian. In March after a much needed grocery haul I ended up picking up some Tofu and it all stemmed from there. You can read all about it here.

Started my Fitness Journey. Shortly after becoming a Pescatarian to avoid losing weight I started to go to the gym more and focus on getting enough protein in my diet.

Trip to the Bahamas!!! For our three year anniversary Dorian and I decided to take a weekend cruise to the Bahamas. I had never been to the Bahamas before. It was so relaxing and beautiful. You can read all about our trip here.

Got my first Gym Membership. When I started going to the gym, I was using the gym in my community. Over time it just didn’t have the machines that I needed to grow. That’s when I decided to join Planet Fitness.

Got my first iPhone.  This goes hand in hand with the next two memories. When I decided to start a blog and Youtube channel I knew that my outdated android phone wasn’t going to work. So I upgraded to an iPhone 6s.

Started a Blog. I’ve always secretly wanted to start a blog but never had the guts too. I felt vulnerable putting myself out there and wondered what other people would think. Something about this newly founded fitness journey gave me the nerve to say the heck with it.

Started a Youtube Channel. As I was hitting the gym more I started to look at youtube videos for inspiration and new workouts. Over time I developed this want to document my journey and to share my tips and tricks with others. You can check out my channel here.

Joined Bloggers Union. When I started my blog I didn’t know anyone who had a one. So I searched online for resources and came across a local blogging community near me called the Bloggers Union. I’ve gotten to meet so many bloggers from joining. I absolutely love it.

Ended a Toxic Relationship. After three in a half years Dorian and I decided to call it quits.

Signed up for NASM. My fitness journey has evolved into me wanting to be a personal trainer. NASM stands for the National Association of Sports Medicine.

I did Moonlight Yoga on the Beach. I’ve always wanted to try this and stumble upon an event thru Facebook. I talked two of my girlfriends into going with me and we had so much fun. They even provided us with glow stick necklaces and bracelets. You can read all about it here.

I bought a MacBook Air. I wanted to take my blog and Youtube videos to the next level and my 10 year old laptop wasn’t cutting it. I decided to invest in a MacBook Air and it made all the difference. I absolutely love it. You can read about it here and also watch me unboxing it.

Participated in Vlogmas. Even though I had just started my Youtube Channel I wanted to participate in Vlogmas. This is where youtubers will vlog every day starting December 1st leading up to Christmas Day. I started off really well but was only able to make it to Vlogmas Day 16.

Travel to Canada. I decided to book a spontaneous trip to Canada. This was my first time ever traveling alone. This was the most amazing trip, I got to go up the CN Tower, and see Niagara Falls. You can read all about my trip here.

Spent Christmas and New Years in Tampa. Usually my family will travel to South Florida to visit my brother and I for the holidays. However, this year my brother took his family to New York the day after Christmas so we all decided to travel back home to Tampa to be together before their trip. While I was in Tampa I was able to catch up with a bunch of friends.

Overall, 2016 was an amazing year. I am so grateful for every experience and opportunity that I had. I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store for me. I hope you all had a great 2016 and a Happy New Year!
