This was a very eventful year to say the least. I mastered the art of networking, traveled to new destinations, said goodbye to a loved one and stepped out of my comfort zone more than once. Keep reading to get a look at what all I did this year.
The Art of Networking
I mastered the art of networking this year. I am now equipped with the perfect smile, a firm hand shake and business cards. I’ve been able to connect with clients, collaborate with others and establish long lasting friendships via networking. This year I went to BlogHer18 Health, Playlist Live, BlogCon and the Women Empower Expo just to name a few events.
I absolutely love to travel. This year I had the opportunity to travel to three states that I had never been too before.
The first being New York. I fell in love with the city, it was absolutely amazing. An hour after I checked in to my hotel I met Casey Neistat at a coffee shop. Talk about a New York Minute. I also visited the 9/11 Memorial, Empire State Building, and Statue of Liberty. I’d like to go back and explore more of the city.
I flew to Georgia and spent a weekend in Atlanta. Now I know why they call it, Hotlanta. While I was there I explored the World of Coca-Cola, visited the Martin Luther King Memorial and hunted for Tiny Doors. I had no idea that there was so much to do in Atlanta.
I took a road trip and drove to up to Alabama. In Alabama, I stayed in small town called Eufaula that was on the state line into Georgia. I explored a state park in Georgia called Providence Canyon. If you’ve never heard of it its basically Georgia’s Little Grand Canyon. I also got a taste of that southern hospitality that I’ve heard so much about.
Grief is the price we pay for love. This year didn’t go by without loss. My German Shepherd “Zena” passed away at four years old. She meant the world to me and will forever be in my heart. I carry her dog tag on my car keys as a reminder.
This year I stepped out of my comfort zone more than once.
I ran my first 5k, The Color Run. For those of you that are not familiar with The Color Run. It is an untimed 5k, where runners are doused from head to toe in different colors each kilometer. There are only two rules, wear white at the starting line and finish plastered in color.
I entered into a model search and won. Lusso Motorsports conducted a model search for their 2019 Calendar on Instagram. I submitted a photo of myself and was chosen as one of the winners. The 2019 Calendar will be out soon, and I can’t wait for you all to see it. Click here to see the behind the scenes of the photoshoot.
I strutted my stuff in an ity bity bikini for a Ring Girl Contest. Where I got to meet Farrah Abraham from Teen Mom and Nicole “Hoopz” Alexander from Flavor of Love. I was excited and nervous at the same time. I made it to the second round but didn’t win. It was great practice for when I compete in a bikini competition next year.
Yes, this year was eventful indeed. I learned so much from the experiences and opportunities that I had. I’m excited to see what next year has in store. I hope you have a Happy New Year, see you in 2019.
